Once a month on a Friday night, come join us for Art Cafe!

Bring your friends, bring the fam, and choose from a menu of projects. We'll provide all the materials and the space to get messy!

There is a seating fee of $5 per person. Children 12 and under included with an adult. Prices will vary depending on the project, and range from about $5 to $25. Projects are self-led so guardians are responsible for kiddos, though our "waiter" will some guidance if requested.

Art is for everyone— that means you! Silence your inner critic and embrace the weird, wacky, playful side of artmaking.

Bad Art Club is all about the process, not about perfection or “getting it right”. This Club is a monthly get-together focused on exploring different creative mediums through experimentation and play. Each month, try out a new style and medium: paper collage and junk journaling, air-dry clay sculpting, painting with anything but a brush, 3D collage & sculpture, printmaking, and SO much more!

Come make some Bad Art— it’s good for you!

*Our teachers are freelancers and some need to set a minimum number of students to make it worth their while. Please keep this in mind if you sign up and wait to pay later. If you RSVP without paying, please make arrangements a week before class time to pay or cancel. Our teachers may also need to prep materials, and space can sometimes be limited, so please sign up as soon as possible so they can plan. Thank you!*

Pottery Wheel Throwing- All Levels (Sat, October 03, 2026)

7 weeks: Saturdays, 9:00AM-12:00PM

$255, plus $45 supply fee. The supply fee covers one 25lb bag of clay per student, glazes, firing in the kiln, access to hand tools and wheels, and a 7 week membership to Emergent Arts, allowing students to access Emergent Arts on their own time (24/7) to practice the skills being learned in class. When you sign up for class, speak with Kara to get a key code to the door.

This class is suitable for beginners, as well as more advanced students who would like access to a teacher and studio space to further their skills. Students will practice making round objects on the potter's wheel such as bowls, cups, and vases. Students will also learn how to glaze works, and Emergent Arts will fire all student pieces in our kilns.

The Poet of Witness Residency is a six-city creative arts initiative exploring survivorship, care, and the human experience of cancer across the American South.

Led by cancer survivor, author, theatre artist, ICF professional certified coach, and narrative practitioner Shannon Ivey, the residency brings expressive/creative arts experiences into cancer care communities through:

One-on-one listening sessions

Poems of Witness created in response to lived experience

Survivor reflection circles

Caregiver gatherings

Community conversations

Public readings and engagement events

Healthcare staff training and appreciation experiences

This is not a writing workshop. It is not therapy.

It is a practice of deep listening, reflection, and human connection: one survivor at a time.

Partnered with the American Cancer Society and Alternate Roots.

BLEND is an experiential art and reflection class designed to help people better understand themselves and others through creativity. Using simple art exercises, guided reflection, and meaningful conversation, participants explore themes such as identity, empathy, resilience, perspective, connection, and meaning making. No artistic experience is necessary. This class is about the process, not the product.

Rather than teaching artistic technique, BLEND uses creativity as a bridge to self awareness, empathy, human connection, and making meaning from our experiences. Participants leave with original artwork, practical insights, and a deeper understanding of both themselves and the people around them.

The class incorporates principles of the Strengths Perspective, trauma informed practice, narrative practice, mindfulness, reflective practice, meaning making, and expressive arts. While grounded in evidence based social work concepts, BLEND is intentionally designed as a creative community experience rather than a therapy group. The focus is on curiosity, creativity, connection, and personal growth in a supportive, judgment free environment.

Intro to Fused Glass- 4 Tiles (Sat, November 14, 2026)

Come learn the basics of fused glass by making 4 distinct 4"x4" tiles utilizing a different fused glass technique with each one.

You'll learn the basics of how glass reacts in the kiln under different temperatures, how to cut glass, the difference between a tack fuse and full fuse, kiln carving and one other technique to be announced.

Emergent Arts will fire your pieces in the kiln, and you can come pick them up after the class is completed.
